Why We Are
We recognized the need for before and after school care for children Kindergarten through Sixth grades in Big Bear Valley. Acting upon this need, the project was aggressively spearheaded by Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley. This successful program continues to flourish through the cooperative efforts of the Soroptimists, the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District, and the Bear Valley Unified School District to serve you and this community.

Quality
The Staff of Rainbow Kids Club provides more than quality child care. Rainbow Kids Club is a safe haven for children to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. We provide and maintain an environment that is protected, friendly, warm, and most of all, FUN!

Our Goal
Our goal is to provide a place where your child wants to be! Each month has a fun theme like "Oceanography", "Nickelodeon", and "Space Camp."

A typical day includes supervised indoor and outdoor play, science, computers, art activities, field trips, snack time, special interest programs, and ends with a special quiet time for homework, reading or resting.

It is our intent to put the working parent's mind at ease. We are sure you'll be impressed with the organization of activities, the emphasis on child safety and our professional and caring staff.

Program Availability
All Rainbow Kids Club programs are operated on an "as needed" basis. This means that we must have a minimum number in any given program to offer it.

You can help us serve you better by returning registration forms promptly so we can know if we have enough interest to offer the program. Special registration forms will be distributed for such things as vacation day camp, field trips, enrichment classes and sports leagues.

Hours of Operation
The facilities are open from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday with three programs available.

* 7:00 until school begins
* Kinder Club for early afternoon care for A.M. Kindergarten students.
* After school activities until 6:00 P.M.

Staff meets students at their school site and walks with them to Rainbow Kids Club.

Rainbow Kids Club is not officially open on holidays and off-track times. However, day camps are scheduled during vacation periods.

Snacks
All children will receive a nutritious snack. We encourage and enjoy having your child bring nutritious snacks for those "special occasions."

Special Needs
If your child requires special assistance to enjoy Rainbow Kids Club activities. please let us know when registering. We will make reasonable accommodations for children with disabilities, and we are committed to making your child's experience a positive one.

Registration
It is easy to register children at Rainbow Kids Club. An application can be filled out at either the Big Bear Park District Office or at Rainbow Kids Club.

A $20 per year registration fee must be paid in advance. Regular fees are paid on a monthly basis due the 15th of each prior month of attendance. Payments become delinquent on the 20th.

Discounts are given for more than one child in a family.

Tuition assistance is available through Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley for qualifying low income families. Other assistance is available through the San Bernardino County Preschool Services Department.
